Chittoor and Anantapur registered impressive victories in their respective matches on Thursday at the CDCA–GVCS Valmikipuram Grounds as part of the ACA Senior Women’s One-Day Inter-District Cricket Tournament, being conducted under the auspices of the Chittoor District Cricket Association and Andhra Cricket Association.
On Ground-1, Chittoor won the toss and elected to bat, posting a commanding 317 runs for the loss of four wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. K. Hamsa scored a brilliant 104 off 124 balls, while K. Subha Sri produced an impressive 122 off 124 balls. E. Padmaja added valuable support with a quick 50 off 34 balls.
For Nellore, Chaitu claimed two wickets, while M. K. Nikitha and K. Venkata Satwika Reddy took one wicket each. Chasing a target of 318, Nellore were bowled out for 185 in 45.1 overs. K. Janvi Sri scored 38 runs, while Sai Lakshmi Sajji top-scored with 71.
Chittoor’s bowlers dominated the Nellore batting line-up, with Rukhsar Tabassum and K. Hamsa taking three wickets each. M. Parnitha Yadav and A. Vishnu Priya claimed two wickets apiece. Chittoor therefore secured a comprehensive 132-run victory.
K. Hamsa was the standout performer of the match, producing an excellent all-round display by scoring 104 runs and taking three wickets for 35 runs. Chittoor District Cricket Association President Sreedhar Kumar, Secretary Satish Yadav and President Srinivasa Murthy expressed their happiness over the team’s convincing performance. The team is being guided by Chittoor District Head Coach Sunil Kumar.
On Ground-2, Anantapur won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 274 runs for five wickets in 50 overs. S. Ashiya Neha played a magnificent innings of 136 runs from 158 balls, while G. Geethika contributed 71 runs off 76 balls. For Kurnool, Y. Sushma Achari was the only bowler to claim two wickets.
Kurnool began the chase with a target of 275 but were bowled out for 215 in 47.5 overs. G. Sharanya scored 73 runs, while S. Razia Sultana contributed 37 runs. Anantapur’s bowling attack restricted the Kurnool innings, with N. Haritha taking three wickets. S. Tarunnam Begum and M. Dhara Mohan claimed two wickets each, while B. Nandini took one wicket.
Anantapur consequently secured a convincing 59-run victory over Kurnool.
