Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy visited Basara in Nirmal district and laid the foundation stone for the development of the Gnana Saraswati Temple on Monday. The comprehensive development master plan will be taken up with an estimated cost of Rs. 225 crore. The Chief Minister arrived by helicopter and was received by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, Minister Konda Surekha, District Collector Abhilasha Abhinav, MLA Vedma Bojju Patel, and other officials. He later offered special prayers at the temple along with his family and performed the traditional Aksharabhyasam ceremony for his grandson. He also visited the nearby Mahalakshmi temple and took part in special rituals. The Chief Minister performed Bhoomi Puja for the temple development works and also laid the foundation for a Young India Integrated School in Mudhole with an estimated cost of Rs. 200 crore. He unveiled a coffee table book reflecting the history and cultural heritage of the district and was presented with traditional Nirmal toys and paintings as mementos. Several public representatives, senior officials, and leaders including MPs, MLAs, and department heads participated in the program.
