Farmers’ Affection Reflects Desire for KCR’s Return

Sathya Shodhana

Former Minister Jogu Ramanna said the affection shown by farmers towards former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao clearly reflects their desire to see him return to power. He expressed concern over what he described as inappropriate remarks made by Congress leaders against KCR while farmers continued to remember his welfare initiatives.

Jogu Ramanna visited Karinija village and received a warm welcome from villagers and women, who greeted him with traditional honours. He interacted with farmers and felicitated those who had expressed their support for KCR during the Polala Panduga celebrations. Farmers had decorated Basavanna bulls with flex banners featuring KCR and KTR, recalling the welfare measures implemented during the previous BRS government.

Speaking on the occasion, Jogu Ramanna said the previous BRS government had given priority to farmer welfare and the economic development of Dalit families. He highlighted initiatives including Dalit Bandhu and financial assistance for Dalit students pursuing higher education abroad, besides self-employment opportunities through the SC Corporation.

He criticised the Congress government for allegedly failing to complete borewell works sanctioned during the previous BRS government and said farmers were being subjected to discrimination. He also alleged that the government had failed to fulfil several promises made to farmers, agricultural workers, women and students.

Jogu Ramanna defended KCR against criticism over his farmhouse, stating that KCR’s interest and understanding of agriculture had led him to build his residence amid agricultural fields. He warned that continued criticism of KCR could lead to strong opposition from the farming community against the Congress government.
