Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar strongly criticised Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge over the alleged disrespect shown to the national song Vande Mataram. Speaking to the media in Tirupati, he sarcastically remarked that the party should be called the “Italy National Congress” instead of the Indian National Congress.
Bandi Sanjay said Vande Mataram had played an important role in inspiring the freedom movement and alleged that disrespecting the song was an insult to the nation and its historical legacy. He said Sonia Gandhi should understand the history and significance of Vande Mataram and alleged that while the British were once frightened by the patriotic spirit associated with the song, the Congress was now allegedly uncomfortable with its complete version. He demanded that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy respond to the controversy.
The Union Minister also alleged that the Congress and BRS had an understanding and claimed that the two parties had collaborated politically in the past. He alleged that corruption cases involving BRS leaders were being ignored and accused the Congress government of treating alleged BRS corruption cases as an “ATM.” He further alleged that cases referred to SIT investigations were being delayed or closed.
Bandi Sanjay also criticised Congress and AIMIM and called for their political defeat. Referring to the NEET issue, he said those responsible had been arrested and investigated, while a re-examination had been conducted and results announced.
He alleged that opposition parties were misleading students and creating unnecessary confusion among them, stating that students could be misled if they were not aware of the facts. He also criticised the Congress government, claiming that its six guarantees had failed to deliver as promised.
