District Collector Chitra Mishra directed officials to ensure peaceful Ganesh Navratri celebrations from September 14 to the immersion on September 23. She stressed coordinated efforts by all departments and called for proper arrangements at pandals and immersion points.
Officials were instructed to ensure CCTV cameras, barricades, cranes, lighting, drinking water, medical camps, 108 ambulances, sanitation and trained swimmers at immersion points. Road repairs, removal of obstructing tree branches and finalisation of procession routes were also ordered in advance.
Police Commissioner Gaus Alam said elaborate security arrangements were being made at designated immersion points, including Manakondur, Kothapalli and Chintakunta. A special control room with officials from police, municipal, electricity, medical and other departments will function at Police Headquarters to monitor the celebrations and respond quickly to emergencies.
The Collector also directed authorities to prevent liquor sales near Ganesh pandals and urged organisers to cooperate with officials to ensure the festivities are conducted safely, peacefully and successfully.
